The two founders of J-Team Database Marketing are Julie Ann Cohn, PhD and Joanne Reich, MBA.

Julie and Joanne have teamed up before while working within some of the top advertising agencies in the world including: DDB Needham Worldwide, McCann-Erickson, Western International Media, Davis Ball and Colombatto, Olgivy & Mather, Chait/Day and BBDO, to name a few. Julie and Joanne were successfully designing actionable database marketing programs for agency clients and fortune 100 companies. They created customer profiles resulting in transforming the product mix, the scripting and the sales process for Dial-A-Mattress. Their database analysis lead to increases in sales and marketing ROI. Julie and Joanne created breakthrough segmentation and modeling methodologies by bringing together customer data with individual/household level data, syndicated data, primary research data, lifestyle data and Arbitron ratings data for Disney Televentures and it’s partners AT&T, GTE and Bell South. The results of the work were implemented to create successful direct mail and effective targeting of mass marketing programs for new customer acquisition. They worked with the in-house agency teams: designing the Pepsi Bottle Cap Game schematic, creating customer level accountability in their direct marketing activity for Ameriquest Mortgage, Wells Fargo and Juno.com, as well as creating database driven programs for Secure Horizons for new customer acquisition. While at Western, they directed their teams in providing retention and aquistion programs for McKesson, Brinks Home Security and Bally’s Health & Tennis. They profiled, modeled and analyzed high value customers, creating programs to extend customer value for: Bloomingdales, Nordstrom, Busybody Fitness, Go Video and Blockbuster. Julie and Joanne provided insightful, actionable profile analysis to Kaiser, Cigna, United Health Care, Bosley Medical, Accuvue Contact Lenses and Glaxo-Welcome for direct-to-consumer marketing programs.

Julie is considered one of the innovators in Database Marketing. Some of her successes include: being a contributing team member creating the American Airlines Frequent Flyer program. She is also responsible for creating: the first local store customer database for McDonald’s that tied coupon redemption to the store mailed for, redeemed at and the customer. The resulting data became the foundation for new marketing programs. Julie designed, created and trained Toyota dealers in local store loyalty and retention programs after profiling their customers and defining their trade areas. She created profiles for Sun City (Del Webb) which resulted in problem resolution for customer acquisition, and did it again for Sanwa Bank, Columbia Tri-Star Home Video and Acura. Julie is also a best-selling author and speaker. Read more.
